The media-tech group, leader in online entertainment, is mobilizing through its “Webedia for Good” initiatives on the occasion of the Mental Health Information Weeks in France, and throughout the week of October 9 to 15 is offering numerous articles and content around this great cause.
MENTAL HEALTH, AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF HEALTH
Mental health has become a key social issue, particularly for the younger generations, but is still sometimes taboo. According to a survey carried out by Aesio and IFOP in 2022, 94% of French people consider mental well-being to be essential to good health, but only 39% of them rate their mental well-being as excellent or very good (compared with 43% in 2021).
It’s also difficult to define what “mental health” actually means. The Santé Publique France website states that “mental health is an essential component of health and represents much more than the absence of mental disorders or disabilities”. According to the WHO, mental health is “a state of well-being that enables people to achieve their potential, cope with the normal difficulties of life, work successfully and productively, and be able to make a contribution to the community”.
WEBEDIA GROUP MOBILIZES ALL ITS SITES DURING A SPECIAL WEEK
From October 9 to 15, the Webedia Group is mobilizing all its editorial teams to raise awareness of this social issue, which has come under the spotlight since the covid confinements, particularly among young people.
Throughout this special week, the group’s various sites will offer content identified as “Mental Health Week / Webedia for Good”, providing information on the various aspects of mental health.
- The Dr. Good! and “J’espère que tu vas bien” media will be offering a special week of content dedicated to this theme, including the launch of a new “J’espère que tu vas bien” podcast.
- The AlloCiné site, dedicated to cinema and series news, will be covering series that have taken up this theme and helped to lift the taboo on certain subjects.
- The JV site, dedicated to video game news, will look at video game therapy as a way of feeling better.
- The 750g website, dedicated to cooking, deals with the benefits of cooking on the mind.
- Many other articles dedicated to this theme will be offered on the group’s media: easyvoyage, PurePeople, Terrafemina, MGG, Le 10Sport, PureMedias, PureBreak, Parent Epuisé, PureCharts…
The social networks of these media brands will also feature videos, interviews and carousels on this theme.
A CAMPAIGN ALSO AIMED AT WEBEDIA GROUP EMPLOYEES
Finally, the Webedia group is raising awareness among its employees during the week, by informing them each day via a newsletter about various mental health topics: addiction to social networks, eating disorders, invisible disabilities and managing emotions.
A masterclass is also being organized at Webedia, aimed at content creators, to raise awareness of their own mental health and support them if people in their community are experiencing difficulties. The conference will be led by Jean-Victor Blanc, a psychiatrist at Saint-Antoine Hospital and lecturer at Sorbonne-Université, and Cécile Lorber, Director of Webedia Care.
“The issue of mental health is of particular concern to us, as it is becoming increasingly important among the younger generations. It’s therefore natural for us to mobilize the entire Webedia group: a group that addresses both the younger generations through its media, content creators and social networks, and a group that is itself largely made up of people under the age of 30,” explains Michèle Benzeno, Webedia’s Managing Director.
