Esports Moves Closer to Sports
2025 marks a pivotal year for esports, rethinking its broadcasting model to meet the expectations of new generations and actively exploring opportunities with traditional broadcasters.
“After working with France Télévisions in 2024, Webedia Esports continues to explore new broadcasting avenues to broaden the audience for its competitions. Beyond traditional Twitch streams, competitions will be streamed live on TikTok, X, and creator channels through the increasingly popular “Watch Parties” model.
The development of media rights represents a significant step forward for the esports
ecosystem. Combining revenues from broadcasting rights and traditional partners, this new economic model aims to create a stable environment for all stakeholders, from teams and organizers to broadcasters.” Bertrand Amar , Webedia’s Head of Esports
