Krakow, July 16, 2024. In July, the significant transformation of GRY-OnLine SA was finalized. Moving forward, the company will operate under the name Webedia Polska S.A. The new board will take over management, with Mariusz Klamra stepping down as CEO after more than two decades. Przemyslaw Bartula and Michal Bobrowski will jointly lead the Polish branch of Webedia as Co-CEOs. In the first half of the year, the Krakow editorial office transitioned to a modern facility within the Korona Office Complex on ul. Przybyszewskiego in Krakow.
In the new structure, Michal Bobrowski will oversee the business operations of the company, with a focus on marketing, financial, and corporate sectors. As Co-CEO, Przemyslaw Bartula will manage the development direction of all editorial offices, support the editors-in-chief, and coordinate international projects within the Webedia Group.
“A new name, a new address, and a new leadership are part of our long-term strategic changes that we will be implementing in the coming months and years. The accelerating globalization of the video game market necessitates a completely different approach than the one we have successfully pursued locally for the past two decades,” stated Michal Bobrowski, the new Co-CEO of the company.
Webedia Poland’s new strategy and its significant role in Webedia’s global structure
Webedia Polska boasts a vast array of thematic portals related to digital entertainment, positioning it as a media hub focused on various aspects of pop culture, including games, movies, gadgets, and technology.
“For over a decade, online press has increasingly been influenced by algorithms, which are often imperfect and easily manipulated by SEO tactics, leading to a decline in the quality of search results and content. I believe we are on the brink of significant global changes in this field, which will result in a return to prioritizing quality content. This is why we have initiated a series of structural changes within our company—our primary goal is to provide users with high-quality content,” said Przemyslaw Bartula, who will oversee editorial directions within the new structure.
“Currently, we are making changes to the operation of our main YouTube channel, tvgry. Soon, both GRYOnline.pl and its English-language counterpart, gamepressure.com, will receive a modern redesign. Concurrently, we are working on our technology service, Futurebeat.pl, which has the potential to bring fresh insights to the local market. Additionally, our editorial teams are strengthening collaboration with colleagues from the Webedia group in Germany and France to enhance content creation and further develop the gamepressure brand. Our goal is to position gamepressure.com among the top 10 English-language gaming sites worldwide,” added Bartula, outlining the development directions for individual editorial teams.
“Thanks to our integration into the international structures of the Webedia Group, which encompasses the largest European influencer agencies and the leading non-English-speaking gaming media in France, Germany, and Spain, we can more effectively achieve our goals on a European scale. We warmly invite all entertainment enthusiasts to visit our 250-square-meter zone at the upcoming gamescom trade fair in Cologne, which we co-organize. There, you will have the opportunity to fully experience the benefits of Webedia’s global branding,” stated Michal Bobrowski.
Webedia Polska’s editorial team consists of nearly 180 editors. As part of the European structure, the Webedia Group is engaged in producing content, photos, videos, and unique projects, both offline and online.
Webedia Polska is a leading publisher in Polish electronic entertainment journalism and is responsible for portals such as GRYOnline.pl (the largest portal in Poland dedicated to video games), Futurebeat.pl (a portal about new technologies), Filmomaniak.pl (a portal dedicated to pop culture), and their corresponding video channels tvgry, tvtech, and tvfilmy, as well as the English-language service gamepressure.com. The daily operation of all editorial offices is managed by a team of almost 180 people.
