August 18, 2021 -

Webedia Gaming GmbH will once again organise and produce the official gamescom show gamescom studio in 2021. Like last year, the format will take a closer look at the most exciting content of gamescom 2021. In 2021, the studio will be completely set up in the Munich premises of the entertainment company.

Webedia’s gaming brands stream event and host gamescom now content hub
All gamescom content, including all shows, will once again be bundled on the gamescom now content hub and made available to the community free of charge. As in 2019 and 2020, Webedia Gaming GmbH will be responsible for the content on the platform. In addition, the complete gamescom studio will also be streamed on the pages of Webedia Gaming, GameStar.de, Mein-MMO.de and GamePro.de, as well as on all partner channels of gamescom.

Well-known Webedia faces take over as presenters
Familiar faces will lead the gamescom studio programme: Michael Obermeier and Natascha Becker from GameStar will moderate the daytime programme together with Kiara Hufnagel, formerly of Rocket Beans. Ann-Kathrin Kuhls from GamePro and Julius Busch from the Twitch channel MAX will lead through the evening shows. GameStar’s Natascha Becker will also support as co-host, together with IGN, at the Opening Night Live.

More than 20 hours of live streaming are planned.
In addition to the moderation, the gaming editorial teams offer an extensive supporting programme. On the two main days of the event, 26 and 27 August, interviews, game presentations, panels and community activities are planned. In total, users can look forward to over 20 hours of livestreaming.

“Due to the renewed digital orientation of the event, the preparations were a very special challenge. Our learnings from 2020 helped us a lot here. This year, the teams were once again able to prepare an entertaining programme full of highlights for the audience. I am very excited to see how the audience will react to our live shows,” says René Heuser, Director Gaming at Webedia.

Tim Endres, Director gamescom at Koelnmesse, is pleased about the renewed cooperation with Webedia: “It is important to us that we implement the best possible programme with our partners for our community every year. Together with Webedia, we managed the challenging transition to 100% digital at gamescom 2020. For this year, we have refined our formats once again and I am already looking forward to watching the live programme together with the worldwide community from 25 August!”
