Webedia France : Discord, new official supplier of the LFL

July 20, 2022 -

Discord, a voice, video and text communication service used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide to hang out and talk with their friends and communities, has become an official sponsor of the Summer Split (match phase from June 1 to August 18, 2022) of the LFL*, the largest French-speaking esport competition, alongside Kia, Razer and MGG equipment.

While Discord has grown significantly over the past 7 years, its roots are in the gaming community and the company is very excited about its first-ever esports sponsorship in France. Highly popular with the gaming community, Discord is the best place for players to organize their team, strategize in games, and participate in competitions. Discord users can build stronger relationships with other players and have the opportunity to participate in authentic conversations with their favorite esports stars, teams, and game publishers.

This new partnership begins this Thursday, July 21, on the occasion of the LFL Prixtel Day, the esport event that brings together the 10 best teams on the French scene, from the Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt. On this date, Discord will officially takeover Riot Games’ League of Legends server for one day to engage with the French gaming community including match predictions, polls and giveaways. For this second physical edition of the 2022 LFL season, no less than 4,000 spectators will travel to the Hauts-de-Seine to witness a memorable day of championship, in an extraordinary atmosphere.

Discord and the LFL will offer an official LFL Discord server dedicated to the entire competition and powered by new content including:

  • Official news and updates about the competition
  • Interviews with the LFL staff, players and analysts
  • Competitions and promotions for the LFL community
  • Video content around the behind-the-scenes of the LFL and how the LFL uses Discord
  • A place for the LFL community to meet, discuss and chat with each other
