Matt Mullenweg, co-founder of WordPress and CEO of Automattic, travelled to Madrid yesterday to receive the Xataka Legend Award in recognition of his distinguished career and contribution to the technology industry.
An emblematic figure in the understanding of today’s Internet thanks to WordPress, the tool that democratised the creation of web pages, Matt Mullenweg was the star of the XIV edition of the Xataka NordVPN Awards, a gala held at Madrid’s Capitol Cinemas and attended by almost 1,000 people, including industry professionals and technology enthusiasts from the loyal Xataka community.
At the gala, which showed once again that technology and science are becoming an increasingly essential pillar of today’s society, Mullenweg offered an interesting analysis of the keys that have made the Internet what it is today, as well as the challenges that the sector will have to face in the future.
